Applied Networking Research Prize, IETF 118 Prague

· 1 min read

On 9 November 2023 I gave an invited talk at the IRTF open meeting at IETF 118 in Prague. It came with the Applied Networking Research Prize (ANRP) of the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) and the Internet Society. The prize went to our SIGCOMM ‘22 paper, Design and Evaluation of IPFS: A Storage Layer for the Decentralized Web, written with Aravindh Raman, Gareth Tyson, Ignacio Castro, Will Scott, Moritz Schubotz, Bela Gipp and Yiannis Psaras. It was one of six prizes that year.

The session was chaired by Colin Perkins. Three prize winners spoke: Siva Kakarla on finding RFC compliance bugs in DNS nameservers, me on IPFS, and Ram Sundara Raman on locating censorship devices.

The slides are online, and so is the recording of the session. The talk starts at 41:23. The IETF wrote about all six winners in its announcement.
